The Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry now has two offices in India's capital city, New Delhi, and Mumbai.
To give a boost to the bilateral trade between Russia and India and strengthen business and economic ties between the two countries, the Honorary Representative of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) of Russia on Thursday officially opened a new office in Mumbai city in India's Maharashtra state.
The CCI President, Sergey Katyrin, who is currently heading a Russian delegation of entrepreneurs in India, inaugurated the new office by cutting the ceremonial ribbon alongside prominent Indian officials.
Vladislav Dmitriev, an experienced entrepreneur who has worked extensively in India and Nepal, will take charge of the new office as the Honorary Representative of the CCI of Russia in Mumbai.
This expansion is seen as a significant step towards fostering business and trade cooperation between Russian and Indian companies, creating a platform for mutually beneficial partnerships in various sectors such as manufacturing, technology, and energy.
"We are currently overwhelmed with requests from Russian entrepreneurs seeking partners in India... This opening (of the new office in Mumbai) doubles, and possibly even more, expands our opportunities for finding partners, organizing business missions, and participating in exhibitions, and congresses. It is of great significance for us," Katyrin said during the inauguration.
Katyrin stated that considering the substantial number of Indian companies present at the meeting during the inauguration ceremony, the level of interest from Indian entrepreneurs in collaborating with Russia is incredibly high.
"About 100 companies attended the meeting," he emphasized, highlighting that each one came with specific proposals.
In addition to its presence in Mumbai, the CCI office will also operate in Nepal, a member country of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation.
