Russian state nuclear corporation Rosatom has said it is in talks to build six more high-power nuclear units and low-power nuclear power plants in India.Russia also submitted proposals for floating nuclear power plants to India in April, the company said."A new direction of cooperation is low–power nuclear power plants. In April 2024, partners from India were provided with information on Rosatom State Corporation's decisions in the field of floating nuclear power plants," the statement said.Technical work is being done on the construction of a new Russian-designed nuclear power plant in India using water-water energetic reactor-1200 plants, the corporation stated.The two countries are also discussing the supplying Russian energy through the Northern Sea Route (NSR) via Russia's Pacific ports, according to documents prepared for the visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the 'ATOM' pavilion at the International Exhibition and Forum 'Russia', held on July 9 at the VDNKh All-Russian Exhibition Centre in Moscow.Russia and India see prospects for "promising" cooperation in the field of the closed nuclear fuel cycle, Rosatom added.Indian companies are also involved in the construction of the Rooppur nuclear power plant built by Rosatom in Bangladesh.Kolkata-located Paharpur Cooling Towers is building all four cooling towers and two pumping stations for the power units, the file said.

Russian state nuclear corporation Rosatom has said it is in talks to build six more high-power nuclear units and low-power nuclear power plants in India.
"New areas of cooperation are also being discussed. We are talking about the construction of six more high-power units of Russian design in India at a new site and low-power nuclear power plants of Russian design," the Rosatom statement on Tuesday said.
Russia also submitted proposals for floating nuclear power plants to India in April, the company said.
"A new direction of cooperation is low–power nuclear power plants. In April 2024, partners from India were provided with information on Rosatom State Corporation's decisions in the field of floating nuclear power plants," the statement said.

Indian companies are also involved in the construction of the Rooppur nuclear power plant built by Rosatom in Bangladesh.
