Indian Company Offers Russia Tools to Verify Emissions for Hydrocarbon Exports
Russia needs emissions verification for hydrocarbon exports, and India can provide such services, Kaviraj Singh, head of the Earthood company, told Sputnik.
The New Delhi-based firm offers verification services for carbon offset projects and assists companies in identifying their greenhouse gas emission reduction needs and aligning their decarbonization goals with global standards.
This year, the company opened an office in Russia.
"Carbon dioxide emissions offsetting is important for the economy of all countries, regardless of where you are in the world. India, Russia, and the EU all need to reduce their emissions. If you export any product beyond your country's borders, your end consumers demand that you reduce the greenhouse gas emissions associated with that product," Kaviraj Singh noted, citing the EU's introduction of the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) as an example.
