MOSCOW (Sputnik) – JP Singh, Indian foreign ministry’s joint secretary for the Pakistan-Afghanistan-Iran division, met with top Afghan officials, Afghan media reports.
The meeting beetween the Indian delegation headed by the deputy minister and head of the Indian Foreign Ministry’s department on Pakistan, Afghanistan and Iran, J.P. Singh, Afghan Defence Minister Mohammad Yaqoob and Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi held in Kabul on Thirsday, Ariana News reported.
The Afghan Defence Ministry said that "the parties discussed ways to expand relations and increase humanitarian aid to Afghanistan."
During the meeting between Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi and the Indian delegation, the parties focused on strengthening relations between the two countries.
Muttaqi stressed the importance of supporting the Afghan people in developing trade relations, in particular by improving the process of issuing Indian visas to entrepreneurs.
The upcoming discussions between the technical delegations of Afghanistan and India on possible cooperation on the port of Chabahar, the head of the Indian delegation, noting the importance of developing mutually beneficial relations, mentioned. J. P. Singh also reportedly assured the Afghan side of easing the visa regime for Afghans traveling to India.
