New Delhi is set to host the Andrei Stenin International Press Photo Contest Exhibition for the fourth time, celebrating the artistry and compelling storytelling of young photojournalists from around the world.
In a stunning showcase of visual storytelling, the Andrei Stenin International Press Photo Contest Exhibition will open its doors from April 4 to 10 at the All India Fine Arts and Crafts Society (AIFACS) Gallery in New Delhi.
This exhibition will spotlight the remarkable work of emerging photographers who are pushing the boundaries of photojournalism.
The exhibition, co-organised by Olga Dycheva, Head of Representative Office of MIA Rossiya Segodnya/Sputnik in the Republic of India, is set to feature 65 winning photographs from young professionals hailing from countries such as Russia, India, Bangladesh, China, Italy, Myanmar, South Africa, Spain and Syria.
The inauguration will feature Russian Ambassador to India Denis Alipov, Executive Director of The Andrei Stenin International Press Photo Contest Alexander Shtol, Chairman of Prasar Bharati Navneet Kumar Sehgal, Editor-in-Chief of NewsX Rishabh Gulati and others.
Visitors will witness first-hand the perspectives and talents of the next generation of storytellers through their lenses.
Since its founding in 2014, the contest has shone a spotlight on the untold stories and unique perspectives of the next generation of snappers, capturing complex human experiences and pressing global issues.
Named in honour of Andrei Stenin, a dedicated Rossiya Segodnya photographer who was killed while covering the Donbass conflict in 2014, the contest aims to support young professionals and elevate the significance of contemporary photojournalism.
Last year, Rajendra Pandey from India won first place for his 'A Hero of Our Time' series of photos dedicated to the lives of widows in Vrindavan.
Indian photographers have been among the winners of the contest nearly every year, including the milestone tenth jubilee edition in 2024.
