The third stage of the Vikram-1 launch vehicle, Kalam-100, successfully completed a 102-second static fire test, demonstrating its propulsion capabilities.
The test, conducted at a specialised facility, featured the advanced flex nozzle technology for precise thrust vector control, Skyroot Aerospace said on Monday.

The flex nozzle plays an essential role in ensuring accurate flight trajectory, allowing for precise adjustments during the launch. This test follows the success of a previous fixed-nozzle static fire test and marks progress in the development of the Vikram-1 series.
Kalam-100 generates a peak vacuum thrust of 100kN and operates at an area ratio of 60 during flight. The test contributes to India’s space programme, advancing the capabilities of its space transport systems.
With this test completed, the Vikram-1 vehicle is closer to becoming an operational part of India’s space programme, supporting future missions with enhanced precision and reliability.
