Russia’s Pacific Fleet (TOF) and the Bangladesh Navy held a naval exercise in the Indian Ocean, following which the Russian ships continued their long-distance voyage.
“During their stay in the friendly country, both sides agreed to conduct a joint naval exercise of the PASSEX type,” the Pacific Fleet press service said on Tuesday.
The fleet reported that the crews of both countries’ ships conducted training on communication and joint tactical maneuvering. In the evening, Russian and Bangladeshi sailors performed command transmissions and cooperation under radio silence, using visual signaling.
The exercise also improved practical skills in replenishing water and fuel supplies while underway from the medium sea tanker "Pechenga."
The TOF ships completed their official visit to the port of Chittagong and continued their long-distance mission.
The TOF task force consisted of the corvettes "Rezky," "Hero of the Russian Federation Aldar Tsydenzhapov," and the medium sea tanker "Pechenga." The Bangladesh Navy participated with the frigate "Umar Faruk," corvette "Prottoy," and the large patrol ship "Durjoy."
