“Our war is not against the people of Pakistan. Our war is against the terrorists that Pakistan harbours and has been using to attack innocent Indians over a long period of time,” BJP leader Savio Rodrigues told Sputnik India.
In the aftermath of the deadly Pahalgam terrorist attack on 22 April, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and author Savio Rodrigues said on Friday that India would decisively crush the menace of “cross-border terrorism” emanating from Pakistani soil.

“The terrorist attack in Pahalgam is believed to have been carried out by The Resistance Front (TRF), which is nothing but an offshoot of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT)*, which in turn is controlled by Pakistan’s spy agency Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI),” Rodrigues remarked

Rodrigues stressed that India's fight was now directed at Pakistan's military-terrorism nexus, and that India would take all necessary steps to ensure Pakistan addresses the issue of terrorism or face consequences.
“Everything that will happen from now, all the decisions taken by the Indian government, would be to ensure that Pakistan deals with terrorism. If Pakistan is not able to deal with terrorism emanating from its own soil, then India will have to deal with Pakistan,” stated Rodrigues.

The BJP leader said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was "very, very angry" over the religiously-motivated terror strike which left 25 Indians and one Nepalese citizen dead, while referring to the Indian leader’s remarks at a public function in Bihar on Thursday.

Modi proclaimed that India would “punish every terrorist and their backers” and “pursue them to the ends of the earth”.

Further, Rodrigues noted that all Indian political parties were on the same page in dealing a decisive response to Pakistan for the Pahalgam attack, as witnessed at the all-party meeting in New Delhi on Thursday evening.

Rodrigues said that “Pakistan has time and again proven to be a breeding ground for terrorism”.
“And, now even the world knows about it,” the BJP functionary said, adding that India would have to take matters in its own hands to root out the menace in order to protect its own citizens.
He noted that LeT figurehead and globally designated terrorist Hafiz Sayeed was yet to be brought to justice for masterminding the 26/11 terrorist attack in November 2008.
“Yet, certain leaders in Pakistan enjoy a good relationship with him. He roams freely in Pakistan, delivers public messages against India,” Rodrigues said.

“We heard Prime Minister Modi’s message in Bihar yesterday. One thing is for sure – India will not spare these terrorists and will crush the menace of terrorism once and for all – whether through overt means or through covert measures,” the BJP politician concluded.
