External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar on Thursday emphasised the importance of amplifying cultural traditions and responsibly utilising technology to create a more equitable global future.During his address on the second day of the World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit (WAVES) 2025, he pointed out that while pluralism is inherent in the world, it has historically been stifled by colonialism and the dominance of powerful nations.“The world is intrinsically and essentially diverse, and pluralism has been suppressed in the past by both colonialism and big power dominance,” Jaishankar said.He further emphasised that establishing a more just international system would necessitate "giving a voice to our traditions, heritage, ideas, and creativity."The minister also noted that the ongoing global transformation has a "strong cultural dimension" and advocated for using innovation and technology to amplify diverse perspectives. “That is best done by harnessing the power of technology more effectively,” he noted, adding that “innovation is key to the leapfrogging that will create ‘Viksit Bharat by 2047’.
