The Dawn broadcaster reported, citing Pakistani Inter-Services Public Relations Director-General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, that 31 people was killed and 57 others injured.The Indian authorities later said that Pakistan had conducted artillery strikes on the border areas of Jammu and Kashmir in response to the operation. On Wednesday evening, the India Today newspaper reported, citing sources in the army, that the death toll from the Pakistani shelling reached 15.
