"We are in discussions with Pakistan and plan to speak with India as well about India's active involvement in the development of the North–South international transport corridor. Indeed, we are very interested in the Indo-Pakistani border becoming a peaceful one, with goods flowing freely across it. This would benefit all countries. It would help connect the northern and southern parts of the Eurasian continent and turn our Greater Eurasia into a single, unified market—the most powerful market on the planet," Overchuk told Sputnik. He noted that India is a modern nation with a strong economy—one of the fastest-growing economies in the world."We have long-standing friendly relations with India, and this is a potential that can now be realised, including through the development of overland transport routes. Historically, such opportunities simply did not exist. But we must understand that a historic window has now opened. That is why we will be working through Iran, Afghanistan, and Pakistan to ensure that all our countries truly become integrated," he added.

Peaceful Border Should Be Established on India-Pakistan Border: Russian Deputy Prime Minister
12:25 17.05.2025 (Updated: 19:08 17.05.2025) India and Pakistan's neighbours across Eurasia are interested in seeing the Indo-Pakistani border become a border of peace, allowing goods to move smoothly across it, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk told Sputnik at the international forum Russia - Islamic World: KazanForum 2025.
"We are in discussions with Pakistan and plan to speak with India as well about India's active involvement in the development of the North–South international transport corridor. Indeed, we are very interested in the Indo-Pakistani border becoming a peaceful one, with goods flowing freely across it. This would benefit all countries. He noted that India is a modern nation with a strong economy—one of the fastest-growing economies in the world.
"We have long-standing friendly relations with India, and this is a potential that can now be realised, including through the development of overland transport routes. Historically, such opportunities simply did not exist. But we must understand that a historic window has now opened. That is why we will be working through Iran, Afghanistan, and Pakistan to ensure that all our countries truly become integrated," he added.
