Rosatom East Asia Director General Artem Goncharuk said in November that Malaysia, which has a large coastline, was interested in Russian technologies for floating nuclear power plants. Rosatom’s floating nuclear power plants on small modular reactors, such as the Akademik Lomonosov, the world's only operating floating nuclear power plant, can meet the energy needs of regions such as the Chukotka Autonomous Area for over a year.Rosatom is in first place in terms of the number of simultaneously implemented nuclear reactor construction projects, with three in Russia and 39 abroad. These include assistance and construction of the Rooppur NPP in Bangladesh, two NPPs in China, the El Dabaa NPP in Egypt, the Paks II NPP in Hungary the Kudankulam NPP in India, and the first NPP in Turkey.

Russia, Malaysia Outline Steps for Nuclear Energy Cooperation – Rosatom
MOSCOW (Sputnik) - Russian state nuclear corporation Rosatom CEO Alexey Likhachev held a meeting in Moscow on Friday with Malaysian Energy Transition Minister Fadillah Yusof, during which specific steps for cooperation in nuclear energy were outlined, Rosatom said.
"The two parties discussed opportunities for partnership in the field of nuclear energy and identified specific steps to further develop cooperation between two countries. The main focus of the discussion was on the potential use of Rosatom's Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) technology," Rosatom said in a statement.
