Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin said that direct negotiations between Moscow and Kiev would continue.
"There is an understanding that direct Russian-Ukrainian negotiations will continue," Galuzin told the Izvestiya newspaper.
Russia and Ukraine held two rounds of direct negotiations, the meetings took place in Istanbul. They resulted in the exchange of prisoners. Russia also handed over the bodies of the dead servicemen to Kiev. In addition, the parties exchanged draft memorandums on the settlement of the conflict.
A Turkish diplomatic source previously told Sputnik that Ankara was waiting for a decision from Russia and Ukraine on the date of the third round of negotiations in Istanbul. Russia has previously repeatedly stated its readiness for the third round of negotiations with Ukraine.
