15:45 04.08.2025 (Updated: 16:00 04.08.2025) BANGKOK, August 4 (Sputnik) - A state visit of Malaysia's King Sultan Ibrahim to Russia at the invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin will open a new chapter in relations between the two countries, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said on Monday.
"The visit opens a new chapter in bilateral relations between Malaysia and Russia and is expected to foster strategic cooperation in various fields, including bilateral trade, investments, higher education, technology and innovation, as well as direct people-to-people contacts between the two nations," the Malaysian prime minister said on X.
