At Least 30 Injured in Iran Train Derailment – Iranian Red Crescent
TEHRAN (Sputnik) - At least 30 people were injured in the Tehran-Kerman passenger train derailment in Iran, Babak Mahmoudi, head of the Iranian Red Crescent Society’s Relief and Rescue Organization, said on Friday.
Earlier in the day, the Iranian Railways told the public about the derailment of the Tehran-Kerman passenger service.
"Thirty people were injured in the incident, however, no one sustained serious injuries. All of the affected individuals received first aid," Mahmoudi said.
Iranian media reported that passengers were transported by bus to Kerman, the train’s destination. Emergency crews are clearing the scene, and investigators are determining the cause of the accident, which will be announced in due course.
