The Russian-US summit began on Friday in a narrow format. The meeting is taking place at a military base in Anchorage, Alaska. The central topic of the meeting of the Russian and US presidents will be the settlement of the Ukrainian crisis. The broader tasks of ensuring peace and security will also be touched upon, as well as current and most pressing international and regional issues. The leaders are expected to exchange views on the further development of bilateral cooperation, including in trade and economy. Moscow believes that it has enormous and untapped potential.

Western Media Go Nuts After Seeing Red Carpet Rolled out for Putin in Alaska
Western media, which once highlighted the red carpet welcome for Russian President Vladimir Putin in the United States, "lost their minds, verging on total hysteria," after previously claiming "Russia's isolation," said Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova.
"Western media are in a state that can be called insanity, bordering on complete madness: for three years they were talking about Russia's isolation, and today they saw a red carpet, which was used to greet the Russian president in the United States," Zakharova said on Telegram.
