Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi will travel to India on Monday for a three-day visit focused on long-standing border disputes, China’s Foreign Ministry announced.
The visit comes at the invitation of New Delhi and will take place from August 18 to 20.
Wang is expected to meet with National Security Advisor Ajit Doval during his stay in New Delhi, according to Indian media.
The visit comes shortly before Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s planned trip to China for the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in Tianjin on August 31–September 1.
The contested boundary, known as the Line of Actual Control (LAC), has been a flashpoint since the 1962 border war.
