According to the Army, the operation was launched following intelligence inputs from the Jammu and Kashmir Police about a possible infiltration attempt in the Gurez sector. In a statement posted on social media platform X, the Chinar Corps confirmed that the Army and police conducted a joint operation in response to the alert.The Army reported that border troops detected suspicious movement along the LoC. When challenged, the infiltrators opened indiscriminate fire.“Troops responded with effective fire, neutralizing two terrorists,” the Army stated, adding that search and security operations in the area are still ongoing.
