For the first time, the festival is being held as part of the cultural programme of the anniversary Eastern Economic Forum, a Sputnik correspondent reported.The large-scale festival runs from 29 August to 14 September, with free entry to all events. The official opening took place on Friday at the Okean cinema in Vladivostok.The Golden Turtle festival opened with an exhibition of 100 photographs by finalists from Russia, China, India, Hungary, Italy, Spain and other countries. This includes the unique collection Nature of the Far East. The works capture the lives of exotic inhabitants of South America’s tropical forests, the rarest and most elusive representatives of Africa’s fauna, and ocean dwellers.The 10th Eastern Economic Forum will be held from 3–6 September in Vladivostok, on the campus of the Far Eastern Federal University. This year’s main theme is “The Far East: Cooperation for Peace and Prosperity”.

Almost 100 works by photographers from Russia, India, Hungary, Italy and other countries opened the international wildlife festival The Golden Turtle in Vladivostok.
For the first time, the festival is being held as part of the cultural programme of the anniversary Eastern Economic Forum, a Sputnik correspondent reported.
The large-scale festival runs from 29 August to 14 September, with free entry to all events. The official opening took place on Friday at the Okean cinema in Vladivostok.
“I am confident that the Golden Turtle project will fulfil its mission — to change, however slowly and step by step, people’s ecological awareness. Because I believe this is what you are also aiming for: not only to appreciate beauty, but to transform ecological consciousness. I hope you will come back to us again with new works, which we will be delighted to see,” said Elena Bronnikova, Deputy Chair of the Primorye Government and Minister of Culture and Archives, at the opening.
