Sri Lanka is interested in increasing the supply of its teas to the Russian market, the country’s ambassador to Moscow, Shobini Kaushala Gunasekera, told Sputnik.
“Yes, of course we would like to… It is, in any case, a key market for tea,” the ambassador said on the sidelines of the 2025 OTDYKH Leisure exhibition in Moscow, responding to a question on whether Sri Lanka is looking to step up tea exports to Russia.
She noted that Sri Lankan producers offer a wide range of teas, including flavoured varieties, which could be introduced to Russian consumers.
