Second Indian Film Festival Kicks Off in Moscow

The second Indian Film Festival has launched in Moscow, where guests were shown the film "Pushkara," a Sputnik correspondent reports.
The grand opening ceremony took place on Sunday at "MosKino Kosmos." Guests were shown the film "Pushkara," which is based on the novel "Nadabindu."
India's Ambassador to Russia, Vinay Kumar, stated that this year, it was decided to expand the festival's geography and themes, presenting various eras, styles, genres, and languages.
During the opening ceremony, he added that India and Russia are two major civilizations with shared features in their traditional cultures. According to him, despite competition in the field of film production, the two countries have been cooperating with each other in this area for many decades.
The event was attended by representatives of the Russian Ministry of Culture, staff from the Indian Embassy in Moscow, renowned Indian filmmakers Sudhir Mishra and Nila Madhab Panda, the Indian diaspora in Moscow, and Russians with a keen interest in Indian culture.
The festival will run until October 15, inclusive. For example, on October 6, the film "The Disappearing Moon" will be screened in Moscow; on October 8, "Snowdrop" will be shown in Kazan; on October 13, "Pushkara" will be screened in Yakutsk; and on October 15, "The Disappearing Moon" will be shown in Vladivostok.
