Work on the high-speed train is progressing rapidly, Vaishnaw said. "We have set the goal of launching the first high-speed train by August 2027," he noted.As part of the project, which India is implementing in collaboration with Japan, the 508-kilometre high-speed rail route between Mumbai and Ahmedabad will connect 12 stations along the way.The National High-Speed Rail Corporation reports that approximately 323 kilometres of viaducts and 399 kilometres of piers have already been constructed, along with 17 bridges over rivers. Around 211 kilometres of track are already in place, and more than 400 million noise barriers have been installed along the route.The project is expected to be completed by December 2029.
