Russia and China agreed to promote peace and stability in the Arctic, a joint statement read on Tuesday.
On Monday, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin arrived in China for a two-day visit. He, along with Chinese Premier of the State Council Li Qiang, participated in the 30th regular meeting of the heads of government of Russia and China, during which a joint communique and several other documents were signed.
"To promote peace and stability in the Arctic and the sustainable development of this region. To advance constructive cooperation based on international law and mutual respect on relevant international platforms, including within the Arctic Council," the statement said.
