Sekirinsky described the conference as part of a continued dialogue rather than a one-time event. The contacts made during the inaugural gathering are fostering cooperation between Russian and Iranian academics, resulting in joint projects and student exchanges of students, faculty and researchers. The conference focuses on key aspects of bilateral cooperation and showcases joint research in history, economics, and culture. Its conclusions will inform practical recommendations to further strengthen educational and scientific ties between the two countries.

Russia–Iran Boost Science Ties: Medicine, High-Tech, Energy – Deputy Minister
MOSCOW, (Sputnik) - Cooperation between Russia and Iran in science and higher education is advancing steadily, driven by a growing interest in joint research in medicine, life sciences, materials science, and energy, Russian Deputy Minister of Science Denis Sekirinsky said on Wednesday.
"I would highlight three areas of special mutual interest. First, life sciences, including medicine, biology, and related fields. Second, materials science and chemistry, which remain central to our joint efforts. And third, physics and energy research - areas that have traditionally played a prominent role in our bilateral cooperation," Sekirinsky told reporters on the sidelines of the second Russian–Iranian scientific conference, held at the Russian State University for the Humanities.
Sekirinsky described the conference as part of a continued dialogue rather than a one-time event. The contacts made during the inaugural gathering are fostering cooperation between Russian and Iranian academics, resulting in joint projects and student exchanges of students, faculty and researchers.
"I am confident we will achieve strong, visible, and meaningful results that benefit both countries," Sekirinsky added.
The conference focuses on key aspects of bilateral cooperation and showcases joint research in history, economics, and culture. Its conclusions will inform practical recommendations to further strengthen educational and scientific ties between the two countries.
