Rosatom Ready to Engage International Collaboration on Zaporozhye Nuclear Plant: CEO
MOSCOW (Sputnik) - Only the operating organization can manage the Zaporizhzhya Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP), Russian state nuclear corporation Rosatom CEO Alexey Likhachev said on Tuesday.
"The question is often asked: can anyone other than Rosatom manage and control the plant? The answer is that only one entity can manage, control, and ensure safety, and this is the operating organization, established in full compliance with Russian law. And such an operating organization exists," Likhachev told reporters.
The commercial aspect of the ZNPP operation may be the subject of international negotiations, Likhachev said, adding that Rosatom is ready for international cooperation on the plant, but within the framework of the law and the unconditional provision of plant safety.
Russia, as owner of the ZNPP, will decide where power from the plant will be used, and resumption of operations will begin based on the military-political situation, the Rosatom CEO said.
