On the sidelines of the Meet Global MICE Congress business tourism congress Mafuru said that Tanzania has the facilities and the experience to successfully organize large-scale international conferences, ensuring a world-class experience for all participants."We have the safety, and we are great friends [with Russia] for many years… Tanzania has to showcase to the world that as a partner of Russia we can actually host that forthcoming conference," he added.The director general also mentioned that Tanzania had previously hosted a summit on food systems with thousands of guests and the presence of heads of state. Top leaders from various states have visited the country on numerous occasions, Mafuru added.In late 2025, the Russia-Africa Partnership Forum ministerial conference took place in Cairo. Following the conference, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that the event had created a good foundation for the high-quality preparation of the third Russia-Africa Summit. The third Russia-Africa Summit is planned to be held in one of the African countries in 2026.
