Russian air defense systems shot down 31 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones overnight, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Monday.
"Over the past night, air defense alert systems destroyed and intercepted 31 Ukrainian fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles: 22 over the Belgorod Region, four UAVs over the Krasnodar Territory, two over the Rostov Region, and one each over the Astrakhan, Bryansk, and Kursk regions," the defense ministry said in a statement.
Russian President Vladimir Putin had previously noted that Ukrainian forces are sending hundreds of drones to strike Russian territory. He emphasized that the Kiev regime is deliberately targeting civilians in the regions, attacking civilian infrastructure and transport, including ambulances and agricultural machinery. The head of state described the methods used by the Ukrainian Armed Forces and Kiev's foreign mercenaries as terrorist.
