India's largest shipyard 'Swan Defence and Heavy Industries Limited (SDHI)', with around 30% of the country's shipbuilding capacity, has earned an export order from the Sultanate of Oman. The Arab nation's government inking a contract for a training vessel for the Royal Navy of Oman.The company said that the order reinforces India's indigenous shipbuilding capabilities, strengthens historic maritime ties between India and Oman, and reflects growing global confidence in SDHI's advanced technical and shipbuilding excellence.The firm will supply the training ship to Oman within 18 months. The vessel has a displacement of 3,500 tonnes and a length of 104.25 meters.The vessel will be equipped with an advanced navigation system, helicopter operation capabilities and a modern communications suite.Besides, it will feature facilities such as a state-of-the-art auditorium, training offices and classrooms to help officer cadets in learning maritime best practices.

India's largest shipyard 'Swan Defence and Heavy Industries Limited (SDHI)', with around 30% of the country's shipbuilding capacity, has earned an export order from the Sultanate of Oman.
The Arab nation's government inking a contract for a training vessel for the Royal Navy of Oman.
The company said that the order reinforces India's indigenous shipbuilding capabilities, strengthens historic maritime ties between India and Oman, and reflects growing global confidence in SDHI's advanced technical and shipbuilding excellence.
"This contract stands as a testament to our advanced technical expertise and world-class shipbuilding capabilities that meet global benchmarks," Rear Admiral V.K. Saxena (retd), the CEO of SDHI, said in a statement on Thursday.
The firm will supply the training ship to Oman within 18 months. The vessel has a displacement of 3,500 tonnes and a length of 104.25 meters.
