Cooperation with Russia in the field of security has allowed Burkina Faso to make significant progress in the fight against terrorism and restore security control, Burkina Faso's Foreign Minister Karamoko Jean-Marie Traore told Sputnik.
Cooperation in the field of security "is going very well," Traore said.
"Our countries [Sahel countries] have made tremendous progress in the fight against terrorism," the foreign minister said.
There is a very fruitful exchange of experience between the two countries, he said.
"Our close relations and our joint work have greatly contributed to the restoration of control over the security situation," Traore said.
Traore paid a working visit to Moscow from February 12-14, where he met with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and representatives of Russia's Ministry of Economic Development. The agreement on the foundations of relations between Russia and Burkina Faso was signed on February 12.
