11:56 04.05.2026 (Updated: 12:25 04.05.2026) Russian air defence systems destroyed 117 Ukrainian drones over Russia overnight, the Russian Defence Ministry told reporters.
"During the past night, from 8 p.m. [17:00 GMT] on May 3 of this year to 7 a.m. [04:00 GMT] on May 4 of this year, air defence alert systems intercepted and destroyed 117 Ukrainian fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs)," the statement says.
They were shot down over the Astrakhan, Belgorod, Voronezh, Volgograd, Kaluga, Kursk, Lipetsk, Oryol, Rostov, Ryazan, Saratov, Smolensk, Ulyanovsk regions, and the Moscow region.
