22:57 05.05.2026 (Updated: 22:58 05.05.2026) Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov held a phone conversation with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, during which they discussed the international agenda, Moscow-Washington relations, and the schedule of bilateral contacts, the Russian Foreign Ministry said on Tuesday.
"The heads of the foreign policy departments compared notes on the current situation in international affairs and Russian-US relations and also discussed a schedule of bilateral contacts," the ministry said in a statement.
The phone conversation between Lavrov and Rubio was constructive and businesslike, the ministry added.
