Bolivia Reaffirms Commitment to BRICS Partnership Ahead of India Summit
Bolivia has confirmed it will remain a BRICS partner and will attend the upcoming summit in India, calling the bloc an effective platform for development financing.
Bolivia has reaffirmed its intention to remain a committed partner of the BRICS group, describing the bloc as a vital platform offering effective and alternative financing mechanisms. The announcement was made by Bolivian Foreign Minister Fernando Aramayo during a meeting with foreign journalists, in response to a question from Sputnik.
Aramayo confirmed that Bolivia will accept the invitation to take part in the
upcoming BRICS summit scheduled to be held in India this September. He noted that La Paz maintains an “active dialogue” with New Delhi and expressed strong interest in deepening cooperation with BRICS member states across various sectors.
“BRICS is an important global mechanism. We need to revitalise the Bolivian economy, and to do so, we must utilise all possible mechanisms. I am convinced that in these geopolitical times, it is development banks and regional financing mechanisms that will generate economic development in our countries,” Aramayo said.
Bolivia, which holds partner-country status within BRICS, views its engagement with the group as a strategic route to expanded investment, diversified financial channels and greater participation in emerging multilateral platforms shaping the global economy.
