South Africa is positioning itself to play a more influential role within BRICS under India’s current presidency, Foreign Minister Ronald Lamola told Sputnik India in an exclusive interview.
Lamola underscored that initiatives such as the New Development Bank and intra-BRICS trade in local currencies are central to advancing development finance and sustainable trade among member nations.
"India is willing to share knowledge on technology, vaccines, and artificial intelligence. There is a space for cooperation at the research and production level that benefits both our countries and the continent," the minsiter said.
He also pointed to opportunities for closer India-Africa cooperation in technology transfer, pharmaceutical production, and artificial intelligence, reflecting South Africa’s ambition to strengthen its position as a regional industrial and technological hub.
