Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping held intensive talks in Beijing on May 19–20, 2026, resulting in the signing of 42 joint documents.
The leaders adopted a comprehensive joint statement on deepening the all-round partnership and strategic interaction between the two countries and signed a declaration on “the formation of a multipolar world and international relations of a new type.”
Russia and China confirmed the course toward expanding trade and settlements in national currencies.
