Russia Actively Participates in Efforts to Ensure Global Stability: Putin
Russia actively participates in efforts to ensure regional and global stability, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.
"We believe that modern work in such important strategic areas [as ensuring regional and global stability] is especially relevant now, in the context of the formation of a multipolar world order. And Russia is actively involved in it," Putin said in a video address shown at the first International Security Forum's plenary session.
Terrorism and the risks of uncontrolled proliferation of nuclear weapons pose a serious threat to all states, the president said, adding that the escalation of tension in certain regions has an adverse impact on the entire global community.
"I would like to emphasise that we stand for the closest possible cooperation in comprehensively ensuring both regional and global stability, and for observing the principle of equal and indivisible security," Putin said.
Additionally, the president said that ideas voiced at the forum will contribute to the development of partnership between states.
