Rosatom Stands Ready to Implement Andhra Pradesh Nuclear Project: CEO
17:12 05.06.2026 (Updated: 17:16 05.06.2026) Russian state nuclear corporation Rosatom is waiting for India's decision to implement the NPP project in Andhra Pradesh, Rosatom CEO Alexey Likhachev said on Friday.
India and Russia have collaborated on the Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plant in Tamil Nadu, and under their longstanding civil nuclear partnership, Rosatom has said it is prepared to advance the proposed Andhra Pradesh project once the Indian government takes a final decision.
"We are waiting for permission to come to Andhra Pradesh with our nuclear technology," Likhachev said at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).
Rosatom is also waiting for Saudi Arabia's decision on the tender for the construction of a nuclear power plant, in which the corporation is involved, Likhachev added.
The 2026 SPIEF is taking place from June 3-6. Sputnik is the general information partner of the forum.
