The four-day conference was held from June 8 to 11, bringing together senior officials from both border forces to review key security challenges along the India-Bangladesh border.According to a statement issued by the BSF, both sides held detailed discussions on measures to effectively curb cross-border crimes, including the smuggling of narcotics, arms, counterfeit currency, gold and other prohibited items.The two delegations also discussed illegal border crossings, human trafficking, accidental and forced crossings, border deaths, construction of infrastructure along the border, and the implementation of the Coordinated Border Management Plan.Both sides emphasized the need for closer cooperation to address emerging security challenges in border areas and to maintain peace, stability and order along the frontier.The BSF said India and Bangladesh reaffirmed their commitment to preserving peace and tranquility along the border. The two forces agreed to strengthen coordinated patrolling, enhance surveillance, improve real-time information sharing and intensify joint efforts against cross-border criminal networks.The statement added that both border forces reiterated their shared commitment to a policy of zero tolerance toward cross-border crimes, insurgent activities and any actions that could undermine border security.Both sides expressed satisfaction with the outcome of the conference and agreed to further deepen cooperation, mutual trust and professional engagement in the interest of a secure and peaceful border.It was also mutually agreed that the next Director General-level conference will be held in Dhaka in November 2026.
