India’s External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar extended his greetings to Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and the people of the Russian Federation on the occasion of Russia Day.
Jaishankar expressed hope that the Special and Privileged Strategic Partnership between India and Russia would continue to grow stronger.
The message came as Russia celebrated its National Day on June 12.
A day earlier, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri attended a ceremony at the Russian Embassy in New Delhi. Speaking at the event, Misri congratulated Russia and said India and Russia share a special relationship that has stood the test of time.
His remarks underlined the long-standing ties between New Delhi and Moscow, which continue to remain a key pillar of India’s foreign policy.
