Russia applauds the understanding reached between the United States and Iran, and anticipates that it will halt hostilities in the region, the Deputy Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the UN, Anna Evstigneeva, said on Monday.
"We welcome the understandings between Washington and Tehran announced yesterday, and we hope that this positive note will mark the end of the current upsurge in violence, and all of the forces involved in the confrontation, including Israel, will adhere to the course of de-escalation," Evstigneeva told the UN Security Council on the Middle East.
