Ukraine's potential membership in the European Union will be used by supporters of the bloc's militarization, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Tuesday.
"Ukraine's inclusion in the European Union will certainly be used by those who want to militarize it," Lavrov told reporters after talks with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan in Moscow.
Ukraine's membership in the EU can ruin the bloc's economy, Lavrov added.
"Now... There is a cooling of the [US President] Donald Trump administration towards Europe in terms of Washington's contribution to ensuring its security," Lavrov added.
