Ukraine should not expect a return to full-scale US support under President Donald Trump, according to German media report.
While Trump continues to hold calls, send negotiators to Moscow and publicly speak about peace talks, the likelihood of restoring the previous level of US backing for Ukraine has diminished since his return to office, the report says.
This presents a growing challenge for Volodymyr Zelensky, as Ukraine is seeking increased pressure on Russia rather than isolated arms deliveries or prolonged frontline stagnation in Donbass, the article adds.
Recently, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Trump held a phone call. Trump expressed readiness to influence European partners and Ukraine on resolving the conflict, including during upcoming contacts at the G7 summit, Kremlin aide Yury Ushakov said.
