"The Association of Southeast Asian Nations enjoys authority not only in the Asia-Pacific region but also globally. It has stood the test of time, building a system of interstate cooperation based on universally recognized norms of international law and mutual consideration of interests," Putin said during the summit.
Russia and ASEAN are linked by strategic partnership relations that contribute to stability in the Asia-Pacific region, the president stressed.
