Russia to Improve Countermeasures Against Ukranian Drone Attacks: Security Council Secretary
Russia's efforts to counter drone attacks will improve, and the country's authorities are paying close attention to the issue, Russian Security Council Secretary Sergei Shoigu said on Tuesday.
"There is major work underway on countermeasures, on creating new systems to counter unmanned aerial vehicles of new ranges. The head of state, the defense ministry, governors, and industry are paying enormous attention to this. Therefore, I hope that as new projects and new systems are implemented, the situation should improve," Shoigu said when asked how Russia would respond to intensified Ukrainian strikes on civilian targets, including in Crimea.
Russia understands that offensive systems of the enemy are also evolving, he added.
"It is a difficult issue, a complex issue, but work is ongoing and, believe me, it is active work. Active is even a mild word. All ministries are working in all directions without exception," Shoigu said.
This includes the energy ministry, the transport ministry, industrial enterprises, and the industry ministry, he added.
