European Pensioners Less Thrilled About Kiev Funding Than Von der Leyen: Russia’s Investment Chief
Struggling European pensioners and workers are far less enthusiastic about the EU's hundreds of billions in Ukraine aid than European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, Kirill Dmitriev, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), said.
Responding to a recent appearance by von der Leyen — in which she smiled while announcing that the EU had provided Ukraine with €200 billion since the start of the special military operation, with a further €90 billion loan planned over the next two years — Dmitriev wrote on X:
"Ursula may be significantly more excited about the €290 billion EU assistance to Ukraine than European pensioners and struggling workers. Adding the €3 trillion in EU losses from rejecting Russian gas brings that to minus €16.5K PER EACH EU household."
