Ships Udaygiri, Shakti and Kavaratti from the Indian Navy's Eastern Fleet have arrived at Sattahip Port, Thailand, as part of an operational deployment. The flotilla is being led by Rear Admiral Alok Anand, Flag Officer Commanding of the Eastern Fleet.
According to the Indian Navy, the visit will include a range of joint activities with the Royal Thai Navy — operational discussions, professional exchanges, cross-deck visits, sports events and community outreach.
"The visit aims to enhance mutual coordination with the Royal Thai Navy, strengthen professional cooperation and develop better understanding," the Navy said.
The port call at Sattahip is seen as a fresh push to deepen maritime relations between India and Thailand, boosting operational coordination, trust and alignment on shared maritime priorities between the two navies.
The Indian Navy says the visit also reflects India's commitment to its Act East Policy, Vision SAGAR, and cooperative maritime security across the Indo-Pacific region.
The visit comes during the ASEAN-India Maritime Cooperation Year 2026, aimed at broadening India's maritime partnerships with ASEAN nations.
The port call will also showcase the indigenous design, modular construction and advanced technology of Indian naval vessels — underlining India's growing role as a trusted partner in defence technology.
