Prime Minister Narendra Modi held bilateral talks with Seychelles President Patrick Herminie in Victoria, reviewing India-Seychelles cooperation and discussing regional and international issues.
Prior to the talks, PM Modi was given a formal welcome at State House with a Guard of Honour. During the meeting, agreements were exchanged across several sectors including agriculture, finance, space, and health.
Seychelles conferred upon PM Modi its highest honour, the 'Guardian of the Blue Horizon', in recognition of his environmental leadership. Modi described the award as a honour for the people of India as well.
PM Modi said the Indian Ocean is a shared home for both India and Seychelles, and that its security, stability, and prosperity are a shared responsibility. He emphasised advancing economic cooperation, connectivity, and digital partnerships between the two nations.
President Herminie said that relations between India and Seychelles are rooted in deep friendship and mutual trust, and that both countries are strengthening their partnership for a stable, secure, and prosperous Indian Ocean region.
