19:28 28.06.2026 (Updated: 19:39 28.06.2026) Russian President Vladimir Putin said Russia would overcome all challenges it is facing, including terrorist attacks on its territory and infrastructure.
Putin made the remarks while addressing the first stage of a congress of the ruling United Russia party. The congress is expected to approve the party’s candidate lists for elections to the State Duma, the lower house of the Russian parliament.
“Of course, we will deal with all the challenges facing us today, including terrorist attacks on our territory and infrastructure,” Putin said.
The Russian president said Russia’s opponents were unable to defeat it on the battlefield and were therefore trying to destabilize the political situation inside the country and provoke unrest.
“They cannot inflict a strategic defeat on us, they cannot win on the battlefield. They are trying to destabilize the political situation and create turmoil inside the country. That is not working either,” he said.
Putin stressed that Moscow sees the existing problems and is taking necessary measures in response. He added that Russia would ensure the security of its borders for the long term.
“Yes, we see the problems, we understand them and we are responding to them, but we will certainly ensure the integrity of Russia’s borders for a long historical period,” Putin said.
