Russian air defense forces and assets intercepted and destroyed 213 Ukrainian drones over Russia overnight, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Sunday.
"During the night, from 8 p.m. Moscow time [17:00 GMT] on June 27 to 7 a.m. Moscow time [04:00 GMT] on June 28, air defense alert assets intercepted and destroyed 213 Ukrainian fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) over the Belgorod, Bryansk, Voronezh, Kaluga, Kursk, Oryol, Rostov, Ryazan, Tambov, and Tula regions, the Krasnodar Territory, the Moscow Region, the Republic of Crimea, and over the waters of the Azov and Black Seas," the ministry said.
Russian President Vladimir Putin had previously noted that Ukrainian forces are sending hundreds of drones to strike Russian territory. He emphasised that the Kiev regime is deliberately targeting civilians in the regions, attacking civilian infrastructure and transport, including ambulances and agricultural machinery. The head of state described the methods used by the Ukrainian Armed Forces and Kiev's foreign mercenaries as terrorist.
