Russian forces have taken control of Pysantsy in the Dnepropetrovsk region and Novoselovka in the Zaporozhye region, Russia's Ministry of Defense announced on Sunday.
According to the ministry, units of the Russian army's "Vostok" group advanced deep into Ukrainian defensive lines.
"Units of the Vostok military group, advancing deep into enemy defenses, have liberated Pysantsy in the Dnepropetrovsk region and Novoselovka in the Zaporozhye region," the ministry said in a statement.
The ministry claimed that the capture of these settlements dealt a significant blow to the stability of Ukraine's defensive setup and opened the possibility of further expanding Russian-controlled territory.
In addition, Russian forces also claimed advances in Konstantinovka in the Donetsk People's Republic, a city considered a key logistics hub in the Donetsk region.
According to the ministry, up to 100 Ukrainian soldiers were killed in the Konstantinovka operation. Additionally, a US-made MaxxPro armored vehicle, 20 pickup trucks, two quad bikes, 31 ground robotic systems, and 21 drone control stations were destroyed.
