China and Belarus should maintain strategic cooperation, Chinese President Xi Jinping said on Monday.
"China and Belarus should maintain strategic cooperation, promote the continuous development of high-level bilateral relations and bring more benefits to the peoples of both countries," Xi Jinping said at a meeting with Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, as quoted by China Central Television (CCTV).
Xi added that China and Belarus are friends whose relationship had withstood all the trials of international turbulence and continued to grow stronger.
"China and Belarus are iron friends. Our relations have withstood every test of international turbulence, and our friendship only grows stronger. Our cooperation is multifaceted, keeps pace with the times, and constantly produces new result," the Chinese president was quoted as saying by Belarusian state news agency Belta.
Belarus-China relations are at an all-time high, with the two sides maintaining close contact on international affairs, Xi said. He added that Minsk and Beijing are developing an all-weather, comprehensive strategic partnership.
